2nd Grade Class Teacher Wanted
2017-18 School Year
Woodland Star School in Sonoma, California is seeking a second grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. Our students are happy and eager to learn and welcome you as their class teacher. This is a very caring group, who enjoys a good story and a challenge. You will love them for their bright smiles, sense of humor, and empathy for each other. Come join our vibrant community of dedicated parents and teachers who, over these past 17 years, have created one of the most dynamic (and diverse) Public Waldorf charter schools in California.
• We are seeking someone who has Waldorf teacher training and a California teaching credential. However, if those certifications are in progress and if you are familiar with Waldorf education through your teaching experience we would love to speak with you.
• We offer a competitive salary (plus a little more for Spanish bi-lingual) as well as health and retirement benefits.
• If you have school aged children we offer priority enrollment for students of hired faculty members.
• You will find our faculty warm, supportive, and accepting. We have a great time working together as we hone our craft as educators.
Sonoma is an authentic, small (10,000), picturesque California mission town in the wine-growing region one hour north of San Francisco, ninety minutes from both the Pacific Ocean and Sacramento. We are a committed and hardworking, multicultural conscious community of teachers and families. Our school is in the geographical and visionary center of the exciting Public Waldorf charter school movement. We enjoy a green, solar-powered campus and are blessed with an unusually supportive parent community. Do you feel our children calling you?
To apply, please email a letter of interest, resume, and the contact information for three (3) professional references experienced with your teaching.
