Please join us on Friday, June 12th from 6-8 pm.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Charter Council Seat Open ~ From now until Friday, June 5th we will be accepting Charter Council nominations from anyone interested in serving our school as a board member.  If we receive more than one nomination, we will hold an election the week of June 8th.  We have one parent-held seat coming open on our primary governing board, the Charter Council. This seat is currently held by Kindgergarten and Third Grade mom, Annie Cassidy. The council meets monthly (typically on the third Wednesday) with occasional second meetings in the spring or on an as-needed basis. This is a two 2-year term that begins July 1. Any parent who has been with the school for one year has the right to run. Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by others. Please deliver a brief letter of your wish to run to Susan in the main office. Self-nominations are welcomed; if you nominate someone beside yourself, please first confirm their willingness to serve.

Woodland Star Education Foundation News ~ The Ed. Foundation is looking for new board members and is seeking interested applicants.  Parents and supporters of Woodland Star may apply for 2-3 year terms.  See the flyer attached to the Just the Facts for more information on how to apply and where to send it.

The Ed. Foundation's annual report is now available on the web at: woodlandstarschool.org.  Click on the documents tab on the right hand menu, followed by the Woodland Star Education Foundation heading.  Hard copies are also available in the front office.

Fourth Annual Woodland Star Student Handwork Show ~ Monday-Friday, June 1-5th in the Main Hall during school hours.  The work shown will be an accumulation of projects that the children have completed from Handwork classes, Grades 1-8, during this school year.  Woodwork will be on display as well.  Please help your child find the completed Handwork that he or she has brought home thus far (this year), and take it to school.  Each classroom has a basket where student Handwork is being collected.  Thank you!

End-of-the-year Assembly ~ Friday, June 12th, 9:05am in the outdoor quad.  Please join us!  Children will be dismissed at 1:00.

Please don't make Aftercare an afterthought ~
In Aftercare, we provide a home, backyard, and neighborhood community away from home.  We provide rest, recreation, safety and delight for all of your children.  In order to continue offering this very high level of service and standards, we need all of you who have outstanding balances to take care of your bill as soon as possible.  If your past-due bill is too big to pay off in one check, please speak with Business Manager Janis Lynne to make alternate arrangements for payment.  Janis can be reached directly at: business@woodlandstarschool.org.  Invoices went in the mail today so be on the lookout for them and please pay promptly.  We appreciate your help and support in this important matter.

HEAD LICE IS SPREADING ACROSS OUR CAMPUS! ~ Please check your children daily for head lice.  If you need to stop by the office to see what you are looking for, Susan can show you.  Notify the office immediately if you find it, and Susan can direct you to appropriate care measures.  Thank you for your diligence with this...we are trying to get it under control and we need everyone's help!
